Dakin Farm, located just a few minutes south of us, has a famous selection of mouthwatering cob-smoked and maple-cured meats, deliciously aged cheeses, and the finest fresh crops of pure Vermont maple syrup. The world-famous Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory - where you can sample the flavor of the day and much more - is located about 45 minutes east of us in Waterbury and some of the best all-natural gourmet chocolate and truffles anywhere (at least according to the New York Times) are produced at Lake Champlain Chocolates, which has a wonderful gift shop and factory tour north of us in Burlington.

This area has a wealth of wineries and breweries to visit, tour and sample. Up the road is Shelburne Vineyard, one of many award-winning wineries in Vermont. Their wine tasting room is open daily featuring hand-crafted wines nurtured only steps from the shores of Lake Champlain. The Charlotte Village Winery, which also has free wine tastings of all of their fruit and grape wines seven days a week, is renowned for its blueberry wines, which have earned gold and silver medals from the American Wine Tasters Association.
